Hair Plugs

An Introduction to Hair Plugs

When someone thinks about hair transplant surgery, most people think about hair plugs. But hair plugs are, contrary to popular opinion, no longer a part of the true hair restoration surgery.

For many decades people have begun to use grafts - little individual follicles of hair that are transplanted from one part of your head to another. The very first version of grafts were hair plugs. Hair plugs were, essentially, large grafts that were designed to make the surgery process very easy. But these hair plugs were so large that the result was a what was called 'doll like hair' - hair that did not even really resemble real hair and instead looks like it came from a doll.

That is why hair plugs are no longer really used anymore. They have changed grafting to look like real hair because they are taking out real hairs one at a time (making them smaller grafts) and inserting them into various areas of your scalp in order to make it look like real hair.

Hair plugs were simply too big, and with modern technology it is surprising that people are still considering them as an option. More impressive, however, is that people are letting their hair loss get so bad that they can even consider hair plugs at all.

When you start balding, it tends to be pretty obvious and take place very slowly. When you first notice that you are losing some hair, you have two options:

  • Treat it.
  • Don't.

That's it. And for some reason a lot of people are going with option number 2. Why? There is simply no reason to not treat your hair loss problems when there are options around there that will let you avoid things like hair plugs and allow you to grow your hair at a good, decent pace.

These supplements are designed to stop your hairs from falling out. They prevent DHT from building up, it does not bind to your follicles, and you continue to have a full head of hair. Using these supplements simply makes too much sense, and why someone would decide to use hair plugs rather than use a product like Procerin which is well known for its ability to help prevent hair loss is beyond comprehension.

Don't wait until you are so incredibly bald that you require hair plugs in order to help stop your hair loss.
